Blaberus giganteus- Giant Cave Cockroach
These cockroaches grow to a size of approx 7.5-10cm and live approx 3 years.
originating from Central and Southern America, they inhabit areas that are humid, moist, dark, and poorly ventilated locations such as caves, decomposing logs and hollow trees.
 
Supplementing their substrate with bat guano and calcium and/or bentonite will give them a rich decomposing substrate similar to what they naturally have and giving them a perch or branch to climb to allow for their hierarchy to take place with the domminant male at the top and sub dominant males and females towards the bottom with nymphs in the substrate.
 
They are nocternal, feeding on dead insects and other animals, decaying matter, fruits and guano mainly at night time.
 
They cannot fly and cannot climb smooth surfaces.
